September 11, 2009

I would prefer non-commercial links, such as universities or non-profits.
Thanks

The Internet is a breeding ground for unverifiable ‘alternative cures’ . .none of them provide scientific documented evidence, but they don’t need to as long as people keep buying their products.
Anyway . . there do happen to be some ‘legitimate’ or trustworthy integrative/complementary treatment cancer sites who do not make bold, ridiculous claims and some are seriously doing the research necessary:
National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicinehttp://nccam.nih.gov/
    Annie Appleseed Projecthttp://www.annieappleseedproject.org/
MD Anderson Cancer Center: Integrative Medicine Programhttp://www.mdanderson.org/education-and-…
    Memorial Sloan Kettering: Integrative Medicinehttp://www.mskcc.org/mskcc/html/1979.cfm
None of these places offer ‘cures’ . . only alternative/complementary/integrative treatment . . with no guarantees.

There is no guaranteed cure for any cancer, and ‘alternative’ in this context is just another way of saying ‘unproven’. If a medicine has been proven to be effective, it is no longer ‘alternative medicine’, it is just ‘medicine’.
‘Alternative cancer treatment’ is a huge money-spinner; there are always people unscrupulous enough to be willing to part desperate and vulnerable people from their cash in exchange for bogus and sometimes dangerous ‘cures’.
I hope that this question doesn’t mean you or a family member has cancer; if this is the case and you are tempted by any particular alternative treatment, please do a search on this site before investing money, hope and (most dangerous of all for a cancer patient) time in it:http://www.quackwatch.org/
The people advising you here are not ‘proponents of big pharma’; we are people who who have experience of cancer – including being encouraged to take the alternative route. I was pretty enthusiastic about alternative medicine before I was diagnosed with cancer, and on diagnosis was determined to avoid harsh treatments, and I spent just about 24/7 researching alternatives between my diagnosis and my surgery a month later. My research led me to the U turn I made on this issue.
Current conventional treatments are not perfect – very far from it; I believe that one day people will look back on them with the same horror we look back on blood-letting. But for now they are what we have, and we know – because they have been tested and proven in double-blind clinical trials, and because of the evidence of our eyes – that they save some lives and prolong many, many more.
I had an aggressive, advanced cancer; I had surgery, chemo, radiotherapy and hormonal treatment. Almost 6 years after diagnosis I am still in remission (no doctor ever says cured).

There are no “alternative” cures to cancer or anything else.
“Alternative” means quackery, fraud, and fake. “Alternative” cures are scientifically unproven because they don’t work, but foolish people spend their money on them anyway and die as a result.
Use “alternative” cures at your own risk. Cancer is unforgiving.

  4. Mark says:

There are no “alternative cancer cures”, just sites that are trying to make a buck selling Snake Oil to sick people. Few things are sicker than people selling “alternative cures”, and these people are clear proof there is no “God”, for if there were, He would strike THEM all with cancer at once!

I´m afraid that there are no sites perfectly matching your requirements. The closest there is is this: http://www.mskcc.org/mskcc/html/1979.cfm But it doesn´t recommend alternative treatment as the only one. If you insist on persuing alternative treatment instead of conventional treatment, at least pay a visit to http://anaximperator.wordpress.com/

Look up Gary Null from Google video, he has a couple of videos out, they mainly deal with AIDS, but the conclusions drawn from the films can pretty much be applied to cancer as well. It seems that the “cure” for cancer is closer than we think. Try also NaturalNews.com. Expect the usual boos from the proponents of Big Pharma.

Actually found a good one about alternative meds. It’s a little different from the other ones posted on same general site…http://www.mskcc.org/mskcc/html/11919.cf…
